Call for Tutorials and Short Courses

IGARSS’09 invites proposals for the traditional tutorial sessions to be held on July 12, 2009, as well short courses to be held during the week before the Conference, as discussed further down. Half-day and full-day tutorials will focus on a variety of topics with a wide appeal to the geoscience and remote sensing community. Sessions that align with the four topical themes of IGARSS’09 are particularly encouraged. Interested instructors should submit the following information to tutorials@igarss09.org by December 7th, 2008:

Notification of accepted proposals will be made on or before February 15, 2009.

IGARSS'09 is also keen to invite experts to lead longer courses in the week prior to the conference (i.e., between the 6th and 13th July, 2009). These courses will be particularly appreciated by African Scholars and Students, who often do not have access to this expertise. Proposals for such courses should be made to the same format and dates as for the traditional one day programme mentioned above. Instructors may want to present their material in both formats. Longer courses utilising computer workstations and specialist software will require the instructor to arrive in good time to assist the local organizers with the setup of the resources. It is intended that these longer courses be offered by instructors at no cost. All production costs, and instructor accommodation will be covered by IGARSS'09.
